Tyre Handler Specifications

1) The Tyre handler shall be capable for changing the tyre assembly in workshop and holding &
Carrying the inflated tyre assembly to the coal mine area, which normally have rough terrain, for change
of tyre on the equipment gone under breakdown during operation no account of OTR Tyre. It shall also
facilitate removal and installation of inner tyre of the dual tyres fitted in respective earth movers.

2) The tyre handler shall have suitable attachment for handling Heavy Earthmover tyres of size
ranging from 18.00 x25 to 36.00 x51with rim including wide base tyres such as 23.50×25. 21.00x25,
29.50x29 etc. The capacity of equipment shall match with the requirement of tyre handling i.e. lifting and
carrying to the site with max weight of assembled tyre (about 3500 kgs).

3) The tyre handler shall have the following minimum working ranges
i. Clamping span - 1450 mm to 3350 mm
ii. Lift height - Not less than 3200 mm

Tyre handling attachment

The Tyre Handler shall have suitable size Clamping pads with griping lugs to grip a wide range of tyre tread
profiles & accommodate tyres range indicated in the design criteria. The tyre handler shall have features
such as Clamping pad rotation, Arm rotation and lateral side shift arrangement for precise tyre assembly
alignment at the time of removal & installation on the respective Equipment. The head assembly shall
have lateral Rotation of 350°, axial arm rotation of 360°continuous and side shifting of 100 mm minimum
either side of central line for maneuverability and to allow precise alignment during tyre mounting. The
clamping force of tyre handler shall be independent of clamping span and suitable to match with the
requirement. However it shall not be less than 19000 Kgs. The tvre handler shall be fitted with clamping
safety device.

Gradeability
The tyre handler shall be able to negotiate gradeability of not less than 25% while holding & carrying the
inflated tyre assembly in the mine area for change of tyre assembly on the equipment gone under
breakdown during operation on account of OTR Tyre.
