Lesson 1: Binomial Expansion and Pascal’s Triangle

Binomial Theorem
Lesson 2: Angle and Angle Measurement
Definition of Angles
- An angle ∠ABC is consisted of two rays with a common endpoint.
- Rays BA and BC are called sides while point B is the vertex.
- Terminal and Initial
Ways in Naming an Angle
- ∠ABC
- ∠B
- ∠1
Movement of Angles
- Counterclockwise – Positive
- Clockwise – Negative
Units of Angle Measurement
- An angle is measured in degrees (°) where 1° is equal to 1/360 of a complete revolution. 1
minute is 1/60 written as 1’, while 1 second is written as 1”.
Conversion of Angle Measurement
- Radian to Degree – Multiply by 180°/π
- Degree to Radian – Multiply by π/180°

Lesson 3: Coterminal Angles, Reference Angles and Length of an Arc

Coterminal Angles - are angles in standard position having the same terminal side.
Positive Coterminal – θ (theta)
Negative Coterminal – θ - 360°
Reference Angles
Quadrant I - 0° < θ < 90°
θ=θ
Quadrant II – 90° < θ < 180°
180° – θ
Quadrant III – 180° < θ < 270°
Θ – 180°
Quadrat IV – 270° < θ <360°
360° - θ
Length of an Arc
s = θr
r = s/ θ
Note: θ should always be in radian
Lesson 4: The Unit Circle
Unit Circle – is a circle centered at the origin and the radius is equal to one.
Form: x^2 + y^2 = 1

Six Circular Functions

- sin θ = y - cos θ = x - tan θ = y/x Quadrant I – (x, y) Quadrant III – (-x, -y)
- csc θ = 1/y - sec θ = 1/x - cot θ = x/y Quadrant II – (-x, y) Quadrant IV – (x, -y)
