GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The human genocide continues to be viewed as one of the great failures of the
international community and cast serious doubt on the effectiveness of the United Nations as
a body meant to preserve peace and to prevent egregious human rights abuses. The Genocide
in Rwanda is one of the most devastating abuses of human rights in history. By some
estimates, it killed almost 20% of the Rwandan population. In only 100 days, between
500,000 and 1 million people were killed. Unevitably as well, the recent Egypt Massacre and
Palestine-Israel conflict that have not been resolved until now. The Holocaust showed us that
it can take years for nations to mobilize in opposition to human rights abuses and often only
amid public support. In the General Assembly (GA), delegates will have to work on any
information available and must represent their respective nations' positions on the particular
topic.
1. Have your nations been involved in a war or conflict? What is on going solution
