Christmas is the most exciting holiday in a year.

I got to see lanterns in different colors, trees and

houses with blinking lights, and tall Christmas trees. I never experience a Christmas season with snow
but it will always be our season of love and giving. Before, I experienced celebrating the season seeing
fireworks a lot and having to play and enjoy firecrackers that I was allowed. It is the most anticipated
season because it's a holiday with no work and school activities. During the countdown to Christmas, I
always wake up early to see if Santa brought me a gift and placed it under our Christmas tree.
Moreover, we are all looking forward for this season every year. And in my eighteenth year of
celebrating this Christmas, there's one celebration I've experienced that will always be my favorite.

Way back year 2010, when we're still living in our small house filled with love at our province. I was 7
years old that time, and I still remember how we celebrate our Christmas despite of having a small
amount of money. We all know that Christmas brings joy and love and on the other side we got to
spend money for the usual Noche Buena every Filipino family prepare before 12 am to welcome the
Christmas. So, before Christmas day my mama planned to cook and prepare some dessert for us, I
requested for macaroni and spaghetti. Because I really love the idea of eating sweets and creamy
desserts. The thought of it makes me salivate, it gives me the feeling of jumping on a soft marshmallow
and giggling because of its deliciousness. The odds were on my side and they agree on what I requested.
But one thing I remember and somehow funny we do not have a refrigerator that time, because we
cannot afford to buy one and I did not expect for any dessert that moment because it's far from the
possible. I just settled my mind that whatever food is prepared on the table I should still be grateful and
eat like there's no tomorrow. Other than foods, I also enjoy the Christmas because of my friends and
being able to play with them outside. During that time, I held a fire cracker called sparkler for the first
time and honestly, I was really happy that moment, because while holding it a big smile drew in each
corner of my cheeks. Besides from that, receiving gifts in the form of money, toys, and clothes from my
parents, uncles and aunties, and godparents really filled my heart with joy and romantic excitement.
What I also like about Christmas season is attending mass at church with my family, before the Noche
Buena. Changing into nice clothes is one of my favorite memories, it's my chance to wear my beautiful
color pink flowy sleeveless dress with a big ribbon in the center as a design and putting on my Christmas
have really made me feel the happiest during the Christmas day. As I was ready to go out, I saw my
Mama fixing a big black basin she is putting many ices in it. To my curiosity, I opened the container on
the center of the basin and I was surprised as I saw, the macaroni and spaghetti. My Mama came up
with the idea; to chill the dessert in the basin full of ice just like the function of refrigerator. She never
failed to amaze me of how lovely and thoughtful she is as a mother. My Papa, also bought fruits and
cooked dishes for our Christmas banquet. While enjoying the food and eating with them I did not notice
that it's our last year celebrating Christmas together as family. However, it will always remain as one of
my favorite Christmas celebrations I ever experience.
