Topic- Identify a company that follows CSR

Activities.
Answer- There are many companies which follows CSR
activities in the previous years. From these companies one
of them are MAHINDRA AND MAHINDRA company. Let’s
talk about this company.
No other Indian corporate comes close to
Mahindra and Mahindra when it come to leading the charge
for climate change action and sustainable business
practices. The company spent INR 93.50 crores on CSR
activities during the financial year 2018-19. Sustainability
runs through the ethos here. This commitment stems from
the leadership at the top- head honcho Anand Mahindra is
passionate about leading by example. Under his guidance,
the conglomerate has set international benchmarks for
corporate success and sustainability. Mr. Mahindra initiated
Project Nanhi Kali in 1996 which went on to become the
biggest CSR programme in India for educating the girl child.
Not only does the project provide free education to girls
from low- income backgrounds in rural and urban areas, it
also empowers their families. The group works closely with
non profits like Nandi Foundation, which feeds over 1.3
million government school children every day. Nandi also
works with small holder farmers on farming practices that
are more environment friendly. The Mahindra group is a
pioneer in the tractor and utility vehicles space. They are a
US $17.8 billion worldwide organization. Celebrated for
their tough and solid sutos, the Mahindra group today
stands as a diversified conglomerate with many businesses
in various sectors. Mahindra focuses it corporate social
responsibility(CSR) initiatives to drive positive and
sustainable change in building resilient communities.
Mahindra and Mahindra Limited has been diligent in its CSR
spending. Since the FY 2014-15, when the companies were
mandated to spend to percent of their net profits on CSR ,
Mahindra and Mahindra has been spending the prescribed
amount for CSR without fail. In FY 2019-20, the company
exceeded its CSR spending to 126.6 crores from its
prescribed amount of 106.56 crores. Below is the graph that

FOUNDATION
VOLUNTEERING- Corporate volunteering is at the core
of Tech Mahindra Foundation’s ethos. Representatives
volunteer in different projects and add to driving positive
change by taking part in exercises, for example, blood gift,
tree ranch, bikes rallies, etc, alongside directing
instructional meetings and activation drives for SMART
understudies.

HELPING THE DIFFERENTLY- ABLE- Tech Mahindra

Foundation has faith in peaceful co- existence in a society
where all people with physical disabilities operate at their
maximum capacity.

PROVIDING TRAINING- Tech Mahindra Foundation’s

general objectives is Empowerment through Education. The
Foundation works with Government Primary Schools by
supporting activities that lead to providing opportunities to
the students.
Mahindra and Mahindra company also raise funds in
the COVID-19. It will be covering the COVID-19 expenses of
all of its dealership employees numbering around 80,000
while also providing one year medical insurance of Rs 1 lakh
for treatment. In case of the demise of a dealership
employee due to the pandemic, a sum of Rs 5 lakh will be
provided to the family of the decreased with the company
and its dealer contributing an equal sum of Rs 2.5 lakh each.
Besides, Mahindra and Mahindra said it will also “provide
one year of medical insurance of Rs 1 lakh for COVID19
treatment for the dealer employees. This would include
home quarantine assistance up to Rs 10000 “ and it will be a
one- time expense for the next year.
CONSLUSION- At last I would like to say that Mahindra and
Mahindra company is best among all the companies to
following CSR activities. It was provide basic facilities to the
needy people. And it was also raise funds in the COVID
times also.
