Separating and Recycling of Waste Water and Soil from Open

Working Title # 1
Drainage in Balanga City, Bataan

Target SDG SDG 6 and SDG 11.5: Reduce the Adverse Effects of Natural Disasters.

Natural Resources and Environment R&D Agenda: Priority Projects

Target Agenda in (2022-2028) Control and management of risks and hazards in water
HRNDA (2022-2028) ecosystems
WATER SECURITY TUBIG Agenda (Tubig Ay Buhayin at Ingatan)
Inadequate design of drainage channels and structures, poor
maintenance of drainage facilities, and clogging with debris carried by
floods cause cities to become submerged.
According to WWF, two-thirds of the world's population could face
water shortages by 2025, and according to WHO, acute Watery
diarrhea was one of the top 10 causes of death in the Philippines in
2016, claiming more than 139,000 lives.
Many drains here in Bataan are blocked dirty and smelly. This is also
one of the reasons why heavy rains cause flooding in our cities.
Problem According to Camp Tolentino, Police Senior Insp. In Bataan 237
barangays, 98 have been identified as areas at high risk of flooding,
84,136 households.
This research aims to keep the drains of each barangay clean, reduce
and eliminate the blocked garbage in the waterways that cause floods.
The purpose of this research is to recycle the water that comes from
the drains that can be used in irrigation to help and reduce the lack of
water in our country and another of its purposes is to recycle the waste
and soil that can be piling or use in agriculture and the construction.

• How can flooding be avoided if trees continue to be cut and

infrastructures continue to be built.
• How to help with water shortage using recycled water from drainage.
• How to recycle the waste that can be incorporated into the soil for
Research Gaps use in agriculture or construction.
• How can water, waste and soil be separated using a product or
machine that when it is separated the water, waste and soil will be
recycled.
