TROPICAL LUAU

COCONUT DRINK
“CROCHET PATTERN”

Notes:

• You can alter the size of the body by multiplying everything by 2 (doing every step
twice before going to the next), OR by using different yarns!
•This pattern is worked in continuous rounds
•keep track of your row by using a stitch marker
•You can make your coconut more unique by adding your own add on’s (flowers, etc.)
• HAVE FUN!

Supplies:

• Bernat blanket yarn by “Yarnspirations” (Brown, Aqua, Pink, Yellow)


• Lion Brand Cover Story (white) (You can use Bernat for this part too.)
• 14mm safety eyes and safety eye washers
• 7mm Furls crochet hook
• stitch marker
• tapestry/sewing needle
• scissors

Abbreviations:

SC = single crochet
HDC = half double crochet
INC = increase
INV DEC = invisible decreased
MC = magic circle
DC = double crochet
SL ST = slip stitch
Are you ready to crochet…
Coconut Husk (brown)
& Copra (white)
A.K.A. Body-
(Make 1 of each)

Mc

Row 1: Sc 6 (6)

Row 2: inc x6 (12)

Row 3: Sc 1, inc x6 (18)

Row 4: Sc 2, inc x6 (24)

(Row 5 is only for Husk NOT for the copra, if making the copra, skip
ahead to row 6)
Row 5: Sc 3, inc x6 (30)

Rows 6-10: Sc around (30)

(Row 3 is only for the Husk NOT the Copra, if making the copra, skip
ahead to row 12)
Row 11: Sc 3, inv dec x6 (24)

Row 12: Sc 2, inv dec x6 (18)

Row 13: Sc 1, inv dec x6 (12)

Row 14: Inv dec x6 (6)

*add safety eyes*

Fasten off, weave in ends


Sew on white to the backlooops of husk






Flower-

Ch 2

In first chain: Hdc, Dc, Hdc, Sl St (repeat 4 times, making 4 petals)

Sl St to first Hdc

F/O and sew in ends


Umbrella-
(Note: This umbrella is made with two separate pieces that will be
sewed together.)

Umbrella Top-

Mc

Row 1: Sc 6 (6)

Row 2: inc x6 (12)

Row 3: in blo: Sc 1, inc x6


Umbrella Pole-

Ch 8

Starting in second chain from hook: 1 Hdc in each chain

F/O, sew one end to the inside middle of the umbrella



Straw-

Ch 9

Starting in second chain from hook: Sc 3, 3 sc, Sc 4

Sewing-
The only things that need to be sewed are the flowers.
However, I do suggest sewing the straw and umbrella for stability.
