As this brought
tension to the earth’s surface and soil, land integrity and biodiversity are at risk. Alongside, croplands and
agricultural production decline at an alarming pace across latitudes. Production landscapes slowly turn to
drylands. Therefore, to prevent further land issues, land restoration must be practice and cultivate.
The Great Green Wall (GGW) initiative is a vital move towards land degradation neutrality. It
already started within the approximately 20 countries in Africa. Furthermore, this action scheme provides
certain decisions to rescue degraded areas and recover the lands’ prosperity worldwide. GGW team
constantly works towards carbon sequestration and extensive tree planting. The fact that this movement
has been in motion since 2007 proves the eagerness and sought-after greener pastures. Only when
manages appropriately, then other land-related problems would decrease too. Food security, fertile land,
economic opportunities, and climate resiliency would be facilitated and prompted. Continual growth
would be evident too.
The GGW initiative, indeed, is an essential program that upturns barren lands into productive
ones again. Notably, this environmental issue could be over through collaborative and immediate
responses, so as when given priority and integrated approach at odds with time and advances.
