Introduction - concept of e-learning
eLearning is an alternative to a traditional classroom learning

“remote learning” or “virtual learning” or “mobile learning” or
“digital learning” or “distance education”.

LMS meaning
LMS means learning management system. A learning
management system is a digital learning environment that
manages all aspects of a company's various training efforts. It
also manages user information for personalized delivery
including their user profile, job functions and preferences

Features of LMS

• Data tracking.
• Personalized user experience.
• Offline learning trackers.
• Automated alerts and notifications.
• Centralized learning materials.
• Flexible reporting and analytics.
• Remote or mobile-workforce ready.
Example of LMS
Some popular LMSes used by educational institutions
include Moodle, Blackboard Learn and Schoology. Popular
enterprise-level LMSes include Adobe Captivate Prime, Docebo
LMS, TalentLMS, iSpring Learn and eFront. Employee training and
onboarding is one of the most common use cases for an LMS in a
corporate environment.
Google classroom
Google Classroom is a free blended learning platform developed by
Google for educational institutions that aims to simplify creating,
distributing, and grading assignments. The primary purpose of
Google Classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files
between teachers and students.

Reflection
If you’re looking for a way to keep your digital lesson plans,
schedules, syllabuses, grades, and materials in one place, Google Classroom
may be your answer. It’s certainly the least expensive. And if you’re tired of
relying on a mish-mash of free trials and low-cost apps, consolidating with
this dashboard may be the right move.
I found that it helped facilitate communication between myself
and my students as well as between my students that would not be possible
in my normal classroom setting. I was able to provide feedback to students
before grading their assignments, allowing students who needed more help
to receive it and was able to give students immediate feedback. Normally, I
give an assignment that students complete in class with my help and I
collect all assignments at the end of class. Because I do not see the students
for two weeks, even though feedback is provided it is not as well-received
because the assignment is not fresh in the student's mind. It also helps me
stay organized as it gets quite confusing when I see half of a grade on one
day and see the other half a week later. I often get confused and end up
asking, "Did I give your class this worksheet yet?" which is frustrating both
for me and the students. Google Classroom will eliminate this problem as I
can simply assign all students the assignment at once.
I will definitely be implementing Google Classroom in my teaching
in the future as it will help me teach more effectively by allowing me to stay
more organized and allowing me to give feedback to students more
effectively.
