Gender-biased words have been perceived as a problematic issue in today’s society.

Many
believe that neutral pronouns should have been promoted extensively to eradicate the bias and
support the notion of gender equality. This development has been regarded as a positive
measure to reduce the gap between gender, however not a few believe that it was an
unnecessary movement that will not be reinforcing the existing gender bias. This essay argues
that eradicating gender-biased words, in favor of gender-neutral words will not help to reduce
the social gender gap. This will be asserted by showing that the concept of sexism and misogyny
can still be manifested and conceptualized by actions and thoughts instead of using words
solely.
