    The First Love And The First Works

    Revelation 2:4-5 KJV - Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy
    first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works;
    or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except
    thou repent.

    What is the first love? Love God first and above all other things in our lives.

    Matthew 22:36-38 KJV - Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto
    him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy
    mind. This is the first and great commandment.

    Isaiah 29:13 KJV - Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their
    mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their
    fear toward me is taught by the precept (General Rule or Doctrine) of men:

    Ezekiel 33:31 KJV - And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as
    my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew
    much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
