A. Content Standards:
The learner demonstrates understanding in reading and interpreting product designs and
specifications in dressmaking/tailoring

B. Performance Standard:
The learner independently reads and interprets product designs in dressmaking/tailoring.

C. Learning Objectives:
At the end of the 60 minutes lesson, at least 90% the students shall be able to:
a. Identify Principles of design through discussion;
b. demonstrate the principles of design through application; and
c. value the significance of principles of design through essay.

(With the question, the students will reflect of
what the world would be without color.
These are the following possible answer
of the students:
“I think that the world would be
depressing because you wouldn’t see
the beauty of our world. Color plays an
important part in our lives and the nature
around us.”
“On streets and highways, a red light
tells drivers to stop, and a green light
tells them to go.”
“Without color, everything would be
unexciting. For example, when you see
food, you pick it for its color, but you
wouldn’t be able to do that because
everything would look dull.”

plays an important role in conveying
information, creating certain moods, and
even influencing the decisions people
make.
Clothes of a specific color can evoke
feelings and attitudes associated with
them. For example, a red outfit could
make you feel confident and passionate
and might attract attention towards you.

Instructions:
Teacher will group the students into four groups. Each group will be given a sketch of
a person wearing a plain attire. They will color the picture and create patterns applying
the principles of designs.
