Oral tablets are ingested into the gastrointestinal tract via mouth, whereas vaginal tablets are
uncoated, bullet-shaped or ovoid tablets put into the vagina for local effects.

4. What are the methods of compressed tablet manufacture? Explain each

● Wet granulation - involves the massing of a mix of dry primary powder particles using a
granulating fluid. The fluid contains a solvent which can be removed by drying, and
should be non-toxic.
● Dry granulation - dry granulation is the process of forming granules without using any
liquid solution.
● Direct compression - dry ingredients are thoroughly mixed and then compressed into
tablets.
