History
The bank was found in 1992 as metropolitan
bank and subsequently started it’s operations.
Habib Bank AG Zurich was founded by
Muhammad Ali Habib of the house of Habib, as
the government started privatization of the
banking sector in Pakistan.
  In 2006, AG Zurich's Pakistan operations
were merged into metropolitan Bank
limited and subsequently renamed Habib
metropolitan Bank limited.

 In 2015 Habib metro won Asian

development Bank (ADB) award. The parent
Habib has operations in Hong Kong,
Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Kenya,
South Africa, United Kingdom and Canada.

 Foreign exchange facilities for medical
treatment abroad.

1.Authorised dealing branches may

remit foreign exchange up to
$50000 or equivalent in other
foreign currencies on account of
medical treatment of resident of
Pakistan.
Remittance will be sent via
SWIFT to concerned foreign
hospital.
 2.Authorised branches my also
release cash foreign exchange
equivalent to $5000 , each to
patient and one attendant.
