Aim: To detect the organic compound in the given sample Salt sample 1

B in equal amount, then test tube warm
in water bath for five minutes.
2. Test for Alcohol
Ceric Ammonium Nitrate Test:- Take
Given sample in a test tube and add few No red wine coloration Alcoholic group absent
drops of ceric ammonium nitrate
solution.
3. Test for carboxylic acid
Sodium bi- carbonate test: - Take Given
sample in a test tube and add pinch of No effervescence with CO2 gas Carboxylic group is absent
sodium carbonate.
4. Test for Ketone
M-dinitrobenzene test: - Take given
sample in a test tube and add pinch of Violet coloration formed Kenotic group present
meta di-nitrobenzene now add few
drops of Conc. NaOH solution.
Sodium Nitroprusside test:- Take given
sample in a test tube and add few drops
of sodium nitroprusside solution now Reddish coloration formed Kenotic group present and confirmed
add conc. NaOH solution.

Result :- Given organic sample is ketone
