FRANZ JOSEF HAYDN


1732-1809
Franz Josef Haydn was once a poor little
boy who lived in a small town in Austria. He
had eleven brothers and sisters and a fine
mother and father who loved music and gave
the young Haydns a happy home. The
Haydn family gathered about the blazing fire-
side when evening came and Franz Josef
perched upon the stove bench and played
at being conductor. Afterward, when he was
a great and famous musician, he of ten lovingly
recalled the happy childhood days he spent
