REALIZATION, INSIGHT AND LEARNINGS
What is the significance of the NSTP Law in student training?
Student’s Answer:

The significance of the NSTP Law in student training is that it aims the youth,
specifically us, to become civic or military leaders and volunteers by giving us a role in
building our own country. In response to this, three (3) component programs have been
implemented into the NSTP subject. They are the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS),
Literacy Training Service (LTS), and Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC). The
following three (3) components have their own roles in nation-building with different
benefits for the country.

According to the NSTP Law, both male and female college students of any
baccalaureate degree course or technical vocational course in public or private
educational institutions are required to undergo one of three program components for an
academic period of two (2) semesters. This means students are only required to undergo
one component to complete the NSTP course. Just choosing one from the 3 components
of NSTP can already give meaning to the law’s significance for the Filipino citizens. The
law’s goal and significance in nation-building is already in effect whether you choose
CWTS, LTS, or ROTC. As it helps certain communities and/or the country in a special
way.

Finally, the NSTP Law also has the significance of boosting the country’s civic
consciousness and defense preparedness. In response to this, the NSTP Law encourages
the acts of nationalism and patriotism among college students. Like what is mentioned in
the previous paragraph, the three (3) components have their own ways in preparing the
country in the times of conflict and crisis. However, not just in terms of development but
also on how we can build our nation during the hardest of times like possible wars,
international disputes, and other arising problems.
