Abstract

My problem is do plants grow best with liquid, solid, or powdered fertilizer? Liquid fertilizers can
feed my plants in two ways instead of just one. I can water in liquid fertilizers every two to three
weeks throughout the growing season, and I can spray my plants with a fertilizer mix. And solid
offers a much slower release of nutrients than liquid fertilizers. Powdered foods are more
concentrated than liquids.
For my experiment. I had three pots of plants. I planted 3 bean seeds in each plant. And Make
sure that the soil in each pot is damp. Label the first pot control. This pot doesn't get any
fertilizer. Then create the fertilizer for the other two pots. And put the mask on my face and
place a small stick of indoor plant fertilizer in an old plant. Place an old tea towel on top.
Then Pound a stick with a hammer until it is a powder. I Put the powder aside and Do the same
thing with another stick of fertilizer. And then put the powder into a small cup and mix this
fertilizer with a tablespoon of water. Label the other two pots liquid, solid and powdered. Place
the liquid fertilizer in the first pot, place a solid stick of fertilizer into the second pot, and place
the powdered fertilizer on top of the soil in the third pot.
Now watch your beans grow! After four days, carefully remove the seeds from the pots without
losing tracks of which seeds came from which pots.
I thought about how fertilizer helps plants grow? Why? Just like people, plants need nutrients to
grow. In a typical fertilizer, I'll find lots of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. These primary
nutrients help plants grow new cells, and many enable different growth and food production
processes to happen. If we choose a good quality fertilizer, it will also contain many other
nutrients like calcium, magnesium and sulfur. Calcium helps plants grow roots and stand up
straight. Magnesium helps plants make chlorophyll, which helps plants make food through
photosynthesis. Sulfur is an important part of different proteins and plant enzymes.

What is a plant?

The study of plants and their characteristics is known as botany. They belong to the plantae
kingdom as per science. Plants and trees are very important in our lives. Directly or indirectly,
plants are connected with our lives,
And we both are independent of each other.

How do plants grow?

Each part of a plant has a job that will help it grow. The roots grow down into the soil
To hold the plant in the ground, they also absorb water and food from the soil.
The stem support the leaves and carries water from the roots all the way up to the
Leaves. The leaves go through the process of photosynthesis.

Hypothesis:

Plant growth experiment

Plant growth is affected by several factors such as seed variety, amount of water,
Soil type, amount of light, temperature, humidity, and other. I will use two variables in the
experiment: Seed variety and amount of water. These variables are the factors in the experiment.
If the amount of fertilizer applied to plants is increased, then plant growth
(height) will increase.
As the amount of fertilizer increases the plant growth increases.

How does the amount of fertilizer affect the height of new plants?

The more fertilizer a crop receives, the faster it grows. We know if a crop is provided with too

little fertilizer, plant growth response is poor,

But if fertilizer rates are excessive, plant growth slows and there is a

Potential for root damage and death from high fertilizer salts.

Procedure:

1. First, place plotting soil in three small pots. Make sure that you have the same amount of
soil in each pot.
2. Place three bean seeds in each pot. Make sure that the soil in each pot is damp.
3. Label the first pot control. This pot doesn't get any fertilizer.
4. To create the fertilizer for the other two pots, put on your face mask and place a small
stick of indoor plant fertilizer in an old pan.
5. Place an old tea towel on top.
6. Pound the stick with your hammer until it is a powder. Put the powder aside.
7. Do the same thing with another stick of fertilizer. Put the powder into a small cup and
mix this fertilizer with a tablespoon of water.
8. Label the other two pots liquid, solid and powdered. Place the liquid fertilizer in the first
pot, place a solid stick of fertilizer into the second pot, and place the powdered fertilizer
on top of the soil in the third pot.
9. Now watch your beans grow! After four days, carefully remove the seeds from the pots
without losing tracks of which seeds came from which pots.
10. Use the ruler to measure the length of each seed sprout.

Background information of fertilizer plants:

Fertilizer is a substance added to soil to improve plant’s growth and yield.

First used by ancient farmers, fertilizer technology developed significantly

As the chemical needs of growing plants were discovered. Modern synthetic fertilizers are

composed mainly of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium compounds With secondary nutrients

added. The use of synthetic fertilizers has significantly improved the quality and quantity of the

food available today, although theri long term use is debated by environmentalists.
What are the effects of fertilizer on plant growth?

Fertilizers provide crops with nutrients like potassium, phosphorus, and nitrogen,

Which allows crops to grow bigger, faster, and to produce more food. Nitrogen in

Particular is an essential nutrient for the growth of every organism on earth. Nitrogen is all

around us and makes up about 78% of the air we breathe.

If you choose a good quality fertilizer, it will also contain many other nutrients,

Including secondary nutrients like calcium, magnesium, and sulfur.

Calcium helps plants grow roots and stand up straight. Magnesium helps plants make

Chlorophyll, which helps plants make food through photosynthesis.

Sulfur is an important part of different proteins and plant enzymes.

Conclusion:

Overall, i can see manipulation of fertilizer can influence plant height and crop
Growth. My hypothesis was if the amount of fertilizer applied to plants is increased then plant
growth height will increase. My independent variable is the amount of fertilizer given to plants
and the most important nutrient is nitrogen. So nitrogen is also a component of the chlorophyll
molecule, which enables the plant to capture the sunlight energy and photosynthesis. Nitrogen
plays a critical role within the plant to ensure energy is available when and where the plant needs
it to optimize yield.
Results:

Liquid fertilizer is the best fertilizer, the plant that receive the liquid
Fertilizer grows the best. Water is the best liquid to fertilize the growth of plants.
But If a plant has been overwatered so the roots are rotting “watering it regularly”
Things got worse.
Some plants prefer rich soil, some plants would die if given rich in mineral soil.
Light intensity, some plants need more lights than others, but some plants would die if given too
much light.
Plants get many of the elements they need through the air. Oxygen, carbon and hydrogen are
readily available. In addition, plants can create glucose and other substances through sunlight.
Even though air contains a significant amount of nitrogen, plants can not absorb it. They must
get it from the soil.
Nitrogen becomes depleted in soil quickly, and the primary benefit of fertilizer is the nitrogen it
provides.
Fertilizer is essential in modern farming, and almost all farmers depend on it to keep their fields
healthy and productive. Gardeners often use small amounts of
Fertilizer as well to ensure their flowers and other plants look their best.
Fertilizer is a material that provides one or more nutrients plants need, helping improve soil
physical and chemical properties and raise soil fertility. When soil is barren and plants grow
slow, it is time to use fertilizer. Keeping just enough use level can help plants grow, increasing
further plant production.
