Before printing, check your printer settings. Print the pattern to “ACTUAL SIZE”
NOT “Fit to Page”.
To save ink you can also select “GRAYSCALE” instead of printing in color.

This pattern does not need elastic or buttonholes.

Before cutting - wash your fabric in hot water to pre-shrink. Press the fabric.

¼” seam allowance is included in the pattern. To make the cap smaller, use ½” seams.
***NOTE*** if you do that make sure you adjust the Band Top and Band Bottom
appropriately.

Download and print
pattern to “Actual Size”
Fold fabric over 17 ½” on cross grain.
Not edge to edge. Cut along the outer
edges. Mark the dot in the dip.
Cut a tiny notch in the center
of the fold on the front &
back of the Front Band.

CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS
Cut out. Leave about ½”
at the bottom of #1
On the extra fabric, fold over
so you can cut the Crown on
the fold. Mark the dot at the
bottom of the crown
Fold the second color in half
and cut the tie on the fold.

Match the double marks and
heavy lines. Tape the pattern
together.
Cut a tiny notch in the center
of the top of the Crown and
at the fold on the back of #1.
These will be matched during
stitching.
Cut the Band Top and the
Band Bottom on the fold.

STITCHING INSTRUCTIONS
Mark the seam opening on Use a Marks-B-Gone or a

Cut a tiny notch in the center
of the fold on both edges of
the Band Top and Band
Bottom.
On both sides of the seam,
top stitch 1/8” from the
seam line.
Pin all around. (Image is
different because I
borrowed it from another
pattern.

Using a ¼” seam, start at the
dot in the dip, stitch and back
stitch at the beginning. Then
stitch around the crown.
Starting at the straight edge
at the bottom, stitch using a
¼” seam. Stitch all the way to
the dot in the dip. Serge or
zigzag edges.
Note the seam of the orange
Band. It goes against the
wrong side of the leaves
fabric.

Ease around the crown. You
can stretch the bottom fabric a
little bit as you go. Stitch to the
dot in the dip. Back stitch.
Match the notches at the top
of the wrong side of Front
Band (leaves) to the notch at
the center of the right side of
the Band Top (orange).
Pin all around.

Thread the tie into the hole
