MINI SURVEY INSTRUMENT

POSITION: President

ORGANIZATION: Peer Facilitators

GRADE LEVEL AND SECTION: 12 STEM B

GIVE THREE REASONS FOR RUNNING THE POSITION:

1. I want to help students who suffer problems in academics or mental health.


2. I want to implement activities that can help students relieve their stress.
3. I want to be an "ear" to my fellow students who need someone to talk to.

EXPLAIN THE IMPORTANCE OF YOUR ROLE AS A LEADER OF YOUR CLUB.

 The importance of my role as the leader of my club is that I am the one who leads and helps
my members with what they need to do. I am the one who voices out their concerns or ideas
and helps them become more creative and responsible in what they are doing.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFICULTIES YOU ENCOUNTER AS A LEADER OF AN


ORGANIZATION AND HOW DO YOU HANDLE IT?

 It is the lack of cooperation from my members. They tend not to respond when I ask or talk to
them, which makes it hard for me when I need to get their opinions or other ideas. The only
way for me to handle this is to ask them individually. I discovered that asking them as a group
made it difficult for me to get a response as each of them was waiting for others to respond. In
that way, they are obliged to respond.

FROM ONE LEADER TO ANOTHER, WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE TO
OTHER LEADERS THAT IS EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTY IN THEIR ORGANIZATION?

 Always be patient and understanding with your members. We should put ourselves in their
shoes before we think badly about them. If you have some concerns about their behavior, you
may ask them in private and may also help them by giving them advice. You should always be
kind because your members will look up to you as a leader and emulate the behaviors and
actions you exhibit. We should set a good example for them.

WHAT IS THE BEST LEADERSHIP STYLE THAT YOU SHOULD POSSESS IN YOUR
ORGANIZATION?

 Democratic Leadership. In my organization, it is important for me to get everyone involved in


the decision-making process, as I believe that we would be able to create better decisions or
results if we gathered each of our opinions or ideas. It is also my way of making my members
feel accepted and included in our group. 
WHAT IS THE BEST QUALITY OF A LEADER?

 It would be “Respect”. I believe that a good leader should act with respect in all situations. It is
less about protecting yourself against criticism and more about establishing good ethics and
integrity.

DO YOU AGREE THAT IF YOU WANT TO BECOME A GOOD LEADER, YOU MUST
FIRST BECOME A GOOD FOLLOWER? JUSTIFY YOUR ANSWER.

 Yes. I agree that if you want to become a good leader, you must first become a good follower
because it is the best way to understand what it means to be a good leader. Becoming a good
follower first will allow you to understand other perspectives and develop your skills as a
leader more effectively. Becoming a good follower also has many benefits like developing your
intuition, listening, and understanding weaknesses in leaders, etc. Becoming a good follower
will also help you follow your mission better by creating an understanding of how it relates to
other people's interests and the environment.
