Name: Ratan Hawlader, Age: 62, Occupation: Owner of a small tea stall.
Trajectory pattern: Improving (saw-tooth)
Description: The trajectory pattern of Ratan Hawlader is shown through the below graph.
This graph ranges from 1980-2022. The horizontal axis represents the time frame and the
vertical axis represents the well-being.
As there was less scope for Ratan Hawlader, he left his education at the age of 20 and started
as a rickshaw puller in Dhaka city. His earnings were not bad for his bachelor life but
suddenly after his marriage things became worse cause in quick time he became father of two
sons. To get rid of this turmoil situation he managed to get a job in a garment factory and
economic situation was turning good. Further, after the promotion he was hoping to exit from
the circle of poverty and dreamt of a stable life. But in a glimpse of an eye, all his ambition
was collapsed in the year of 2020. He was sacked from the job and all the way of earning was
shattered. At that time of covid situation, he lost all his savings and hardly had anything to
start a business. Though his situation was not good always but he gave major importance to
education and that’s why his elder two sons were able to finish their graduation and quickly
get themselves involved into jobs. With the help of the money from his sons, Ratan found a
new hope and was able to start a small tea stall. Recently, in a helping policy of the govt. he
got a loan with less interest rates than usual and now making the arrangements to set up a
grocery store with the help of his younger son. His financial condition is now improving and
like always he is ready for the future, Ratan proudly uttered. People like Ratan symbolizes
the undying sprit of our country.
