NORTHBOUND SH 6 NAVASOTA BRIDGE WORK

January 5, 2023

BRAZOS COUNTY– Beginning Monday, January 9, 2023, TxDOT’s contractor, Talbran Enterprises LLC,
will begin a construction project on the northbound SH 6 Navasota Bridge. This project will address multiple
maintenance issues and repairs as well as replacement of the bridge rail. The bridge will be worked on in
two phases, with one northbound lane open at all times.

The first phase will replace the bridge rail on the west side of SH 6 with the left lane being closed to traffic,
and the second phase will replace the bridge rail on the east side of SH 6 with the right lane being closed to
traffic. For both phases, the Northbound ramp from BS-6 to SH 6 will be closed with a detour along SB SH 6
to the intersection of FM 3090, where traffic will be able to turn onto northbound SH 6. The total duration of
this project is expected to be 4 months with favorable weather.

This project is a $845,000 maintenance project that will upgrade the bridge rails and address multiple repair
areas on the bridge to improve the longevity of the bridge.
