FINAL EVALUATION/EXAM INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS

January 2023

Good luck on your final Evaluations/Exams

A. STUDENT FINAL EVALUATION SCHEDULE
It is your responsibility to note the DATE, the TIME, and the PLACE of your Final Evaluations.

GRADES 9 & 10 Students

Grade 9 and 10 courses and workplace (E) level courses will not include exams as part of their final evaluation.

GRADES 11 & 12 Students

The Peel Board will support the use of exams in the final evaluation for college (C), mixed (M), or university (U) courses in
grades 11 and 12 courses only.
Exams will be designed to allow students to complete the evaluation within a 75-minute (or shorter) time. Students should
also be provided with up to 75 additional minutes if they feel that they need more time to demonstrate their full understanding
of the course curriculum.
Upon completion of your exam, you will leave the school immediately unless you are “bussed to school.” There are no
exceptions. Arrange your transportation early.

MARKS
30% of the grade will be based on a final evaluation administered at or towards the end of the course. This evaluation
will be based on evidence from one or a combination of the following: an examination, a performance, an essay, a portfolio,
student-teacher conversations, an inquiry, and/or another method of evaluation suitable to the course content. The final
evaluation allows you the student an opportunity to demonstrate comprehensive achievement of the overall expectations for
the course”

B. STUDENT ABSENCES AND LATES

If you are absent for a final evaluation you will need to meet with your VP to discuss your abs.
You must meet with your vice principal before you will be permitted to complete your final evaluation. All final
evaluations begin promptly. Don’t be late for your final evaluation.

C. STUDENTS WHO TAKE BUSSES

The Bus to School pickup time is 10:45 a.m. each exam day. All other school busses will run their normal time.

D. STUDY
During the final evaluations, the library is designated as a "QUIET STUDY AREA". 8:05-8:30am. The cafeteria will
accommodate students during evaluation periods. The food server will not be available to purchase food.

E. OUT OF BOUNDS
While the final evaluations are in progress, you must NOT be in the halls unless you have a scheduled time slot by your
teacher for a final evaluation. Students are writing final evaluations and they need you to be quiet in order to
concentrate.

F. EQUIPMENT
You must provide the necessary equipment for your final evaluations. Check with your subject teacher to determine
what is needed.

H. MORATORIUM - FIELD TRIPS & TESTS

No Field trips on or after January 13th, 2023
No new tests, assignments or quizzes based on term work can be assigned on or after Monday, January 16, 2020.

students who have missed assignments and tests this semester are encouraged to complete them during this time to
ensure success in their courses.
