The primary technique for assessing the community’s health risks is through an initial assessment
and some recommendations in relation to the family and their community or environment. Upon
assessing the Opilac family, it is important to consider the variations inside their family structure
since this is also essential for healthcare delivery due to the tremendous impact that the family has
on their individual health choices and behaviors. Through home visiting the family, the nurses
observed the following that the family needs in relation to their health- they are isolated as they do
not receive regular health care, both aged parents are chain-smokers and there are observed
inadequate sanitation in the home environment. In connection to these arising problems observed,
the community health nurses have potential to address these common family issues.
