RESEARCH BACKGROUND

Workers' accommodation in construction sites is provided by the contractor of the project for the workers.

In Malaysia, there are many ongoing projects, which hire both local and foreign workers.

The accommodation provided must be comfortable enough to meet human rights.

The contractor is also responsible for maintaining and managing the accommodation throughout the project.

However, there have been reports of poor conditions in workers' accommodation at construction sites in

Malaysia.

a) This thesis research collect the data on current situation of workers accommodation at construction sites in Johor. It gives
awareness on current situation of workers accommodation at construction site.

b) This thesis research compare the standard of accommodation facilities with the standard set by the government. It
helps to improve standard accommodation facilities based on standard set by the government.
