ABSTRACT
Background: In contrast to the goals set in the 2020 National Action Plan for Dental and Oral Health Services which calls for
a DMF-T index of 4.1 for all ages, the DMF-T for the 12-year-old group entering puberty is still at 1.9. T for all ages is 1.26.
Knowing how the behavior of adolescents when cleaning their teeth is the goal of this study. This study is a literature review,
and the method used is a search for articles that have been accepted for publication in 4 full text databases and academic
publications namely Google Scholar, PubMed, Proquest, and DOAJ, and can be accessed in full text in pdf and scientific
formats. These articles were published within the last 5 years, from 2016 to 2020. Many teenagers floss and floss their teeth
twice a day. Some teens still don't wash their teeth as often as recommended. Teenagers usually clean their teeth at night.
However, teenagers in some groups may not understand when is the right time to wash their teeth. Most teenagers use a
combination technique to brush their teeth, a few others use a vertical technique and many young women use dental floss as a
tool.
