    1. Radiotherapy is one of the major modalities used to treat cancer. It is commonly used as an adjuvant treatment after surgery for aggressive tumors like gliomas. 2. Radiotherapy techniques vary depending on the tumor type and location. Whole brain irradiation is used for more severe cases while stereotactic radiotherapy is used for some brain tumors and metastatic disease. 3. Intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) is now commonly used for head and neck cancers to spare organs like the parotid glands and reduce side effects like xerostomia. Chemoradiotherapy is also used to treat lung, esophageal, and rectal cancers.
