Introductory Message

Welcome to the TLE-ICT and Entrepreneurship 6 Module on Posts and Shares


Materials on Blogs in a Safe and Responsible Manner.
This Self-Learning Module was collaboratively designed, developed and
reviewed by educators from the Schools Division Office of Pasig City headed by its
Officer-in-Charge Schools Division Superintendent, Ma. Evalou Concepcion A.
Agustin, in partnership with the City Government of Pasig through its mayor,
Honorable Victor Ma. Regis N. Sotto. The writers utilized the standards set by the K
to 12 Curriculum using the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC) in
developing this instructional resource.

This learning material hopes to engage the learners in guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Further, this also aims to help learners
acquire the needed 21st century skills especially the 5 Cs, namely: Communication,
Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking, and Character while taking into
consideration their needs and circumstances.

Posts and Shares Materials on Blogs in a Safe and Responsible Manner

Blog also known as weblog, is an online journal or diary on a website that


contains short entries of events, topic etc. in a written form and updated by
an individual called blogger. Many people nowadays use blogs to share their
thoughts, creativity and experiences.
Here are some blog types.
1. Personal- includes blogs about personal topics such as travel, music,
health, among others.
2. Business- professional’s blog to share their expertise, and companies
blog to have more personal engagement with customers.
3. School- teacher and student’s blog to collaborate for assignment and
projects.
4. How-to, tips, and reviews- tips and reviews on travels, cooking, books,
etc.

How to Create a Blog Post


Creating a blog post may differ depending on the platform used. The
following are the general steps that must be followed:
1. Go to the blogging platform website
2. If you are not yet registered, create an account. Fill out all the
necessary information such as username, password, e-mail address,
and name.
3. Choose a domain name (i.e. studentsblogger.wordpress.com).
4. Verify your e-mail address
5. Once registered log in to your account.
6. Customize the name of your blog.
7. Write a post. Keep it interesting yet concise
8. Add a title to your post
9. Check your grammar, spelling, and punctuation used
10. You may add photo, video, music, among others. Publish your work.
To Post and Share Materials on a Blog, do the following steps:
1. Know what you love, care about or wish to share with others. This
may reflect your passion or daily experiences.
2. Know your purpose to connect to intended audience. It could be
sharing something like latest news and trends.
3. Offer and introduce a unique and different ways of blogging.
4. Create your own name for your blog. Be creative and build identity
that reflects who you are and what you care about.
5. Inquire or research keywords that is related to your chosen subject or
topic to help people find your blog.

What is the difference between blog and vlog?

Blog has a written content while Vlog has a video content. Vlog or
Video Blog is also a form of blog which contains stories events and different
topics for which the medium is video. Vlog is the most popular nowadays
and most of these vlogs can be seen in YouTube.

Blogging Dos and Don’ts


Are you a blogger/vlogger? Are you enjoying and love sharing your
events in the online world? If yes, then you should know the guidelines to
ensure responsible blogging while enjoying its perks

1. Do not post your personal information.


2. Always ask for permission if you are going to use files created and
owned by others that includes photos, audio, video clips, images, etc.
3. Write objectively. Write about the things that inspire you but be
particular on the content/topic, do not be too subjective. Always back
up opinions and suggestion with facts. Avoid posting fake news.
4. Write respectfully. Use a conversational or friendly tone, but still be
professional. Do not post anything that is offensive in nature.
5. Be careful and be smart with what you post. Avoid offensive
blogs/vlogs that will cause trouble.
6. Do not make any personal attack on anybody. Avoid bashing people
you do not like, instead use your blog for doing positive activities.
7. Choose exciting, timely, and informative topics. However, do not write
just to appeal to the masses. Write about topics that are interesting,
well- organized, unique and entertaining.
8. Make sure not to duplicate other’s blog name. Make your blog’s name
unique. Make it different so you can attract viewers.
9. Always remember the word netiquette, this is a short term for
"internet etiquette." just like etiquette is a code of polite behavior in
society, netiquette is a code of good behavior on the internet.
10. Reread your post and check mistakes on spelling, grammar and
others…and for vlog also review your video, ensure that no one is
getting hurt, offended or insulted in your video.
