EDUCATION SYSTEM OF PAKISTAN AND ITS

WEAKNESSES:
Derivation:
The word Education is derived from Latin word. educere,
educare, and educatum which means “to learn”, “to know” and “to lead
out”.
DEFINITION:
Education is the systemic receiving of instruction,
especially at school or university.
Education is not just about learning new things at school or
universities or creating new ideas but also being laced with good
understanding of day-to-day life. Understanding your role in society as
student, teacher, doctor, politician, son or daughter , father , mother ,
brother or sister ,etc.

According to ARISTOTLE; one of the greatest philosopher of his

time.
“ Education is the process of training man
to fulfill his aim by exercising all the faculties to the fullest extent as
member of society’’.
So , Education generally is learning via any form or any way.
1. Learning from books
2. Learning from life
3. Learning from experiences
4. Learning from facts
5. Learning from teachers etc.
A Great learner is the one who not only learns from books but also
from life and its experiences. And those who are great learner are also
greatest contributer to the society.so the importance of education cannot
be underestimated ,those nations who are finest in education are at the
vanguard of human society and technologically far ahead of others.
According to NELSON MANDELA,
“Education is the most powerful
weapon which you can use to change the world”
It is one of the most potent entity through we can revolutionize the world, conquer
the universe[knowing more about the universe] and develop a deep sense of life.

Education is not just about learning new things or creating new ideas but also
being laced with good understanding of day-to-day life. Understanding your role in
society as student, teacher , doctor , son or daughter , father , mother ,etc.
IMPORTANCE:
1. Happy life

2. Comfortable life

3. Technologically advanced[good medicine and hospitals].

4. Safety within country

5. Sharing of knowledge

6. Better jobs

7. Better society
8. Good laws

9. Prosper economy

10. Respected throughout the world, etc.

11. Violence free society

Education System of Pakistan :

Now coming to Pakistan, an educationally impoverished land, even though the

importance of education is clear. Still in Pakistan the trend of education is not as
common as in west.

According to statisca.com, "The literacy rate (which measures the percentage of

people aged 15 and above who are able to read and write) in 2019 in Pakistan was
around 58 percent, with less than 46.49 percent of women being literate and more
than 69.29 percent of men”. Whereas in other parts of the world, we see quite
opposite of it :

2. UK-99%

3. Germany-99%

4. Israel-97. 5%

5. Palestine-96. 5%,etc.

From the aforementioned statics one can guess the fraility of Pakistan education
system. A system which can change the face of Pakistan for better is not popular
enough. A system which has make other nations great is itself in abyss of darkness
and ignorance.

Let discuss some issuses that are pesturing our eduaction system:

LOOPHOLES IN OUR EDUACATION SYSTEM:

 1. DOUBLE STANDARD:

In here ,The Elites ,most of which are politicians, judges,

establishments ,who are the people having capacity to introduce
changes in the education system, are laced with money, thus can get
easy access to quality education (O-level or A-level or sending their
progenies to foreign nations)Hence they don't need the overhaul of this
obsolete Education system.
2. NO-SKILLS:

Our education is not weaponizing our youth with skills .The Pakistani
youth are palpabaly lacking in skill department thus end up being
unemployed.
3. LANGUAGE BARRIER:
The language is also a barrier. No institution in here is focusing on
maternal language but English and Urdu. Take the example of
Afghanistan a much more regressive nation compare to Pakistan but at
least they giving education in their own language.
4. HIGH STRENGTH IN CLASS:
Similarly, number of students in class is too high. According to
international STANDARD, maximum 25 to 30 in one class. But in
Pakistan one class is filled up with upto 85 to 90 heads..

5. NUMBER GAME:
In Pakistan the gauge of student intelligence is not concept but
numbers. If you have high numbers in board exams, you are intelligent.
6. EDUCATIONAL MINDSET:
Our educational mindset is wrong. We inculcate the idea in young
minds, that entering medical college or army or any bureaucratic field is
worth the effort and these are the institution to which bright minds
belong. Due to which most of them are not able to get higher in their
respective fields or they donot have passion to continue any further in
their field.
7. SPENDINGS:
Our spending on the education is anything but more. We hardly spent on
education, evident from 2.9% GDP spending compared to average
4.45% spending of other nations. This meagre outlays on education has
its roots in the wrong economic policies and rampant corruption.
8. DECENTERALIZATION:
The decentralization of education after passage of 18th amendment
further aggravated dismal condition of education.
9. NO RESEARCHES:
Our education system is totally devoid of REASEARCH based work. It
is the benchmark of technological revolution and should be the focus of
our student instead of cramming and memorization.
REMEDY:
These are some of the flaws of our education system. If government is
sincere to move Pakistan out of quagmire, and give the people of
Pakistan a future .So they ought to weed out these cancerous cells,
which have taken form of tissues and organs. Some of the following
steps can make our education system better :
1. EDUACTION EMERGENCY SHOULD BE IMPOSED
2. COMPUSORY SKILL PROVISION AFTER PRIMARY LEVEL
3. ONE-POLICY ON EDUCATION
4. SHOULD BE NATIONAL PRIORITY
5. POLITICIANS ON ONE PAGE
6. SHOULD BE GIVEN ECONOMIC PRIORITY
