Grade 10 Performance Task


Performance standard: The learners should be able to:
1. Demonstrate ways to ensure disaster preparedness during earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.
2. Suggest ways by which he/she can contribute to government efforts in reducing damage due to earthquakes,
tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.

Activities:
1. Perform a role play depicting the disasters brought by the movement of the crust (earthquake, tsunamis and
volcanic eruptions) and the things to do to ensure preparedness during this phenomenon. Include the things
you need to prepare and do before, during and after the disasters.

2. Perform a jingle (song and dance) about the effect of crust movements in the occurrence of earthquake,
tsunamis and volcanic eruption. Include your suggested ways by which you can contribute to government
efforts in reducing damage due to earthquake, tsunamis and volcanic eruption.

3. Make a TV commercial or broad cast showing the different disasters (earthquake, tsunamis and volcanic
eruptions) that might happen when crusts’ of the Earth move. Include the things you need to prepare and do
before, during and after the disasters.
