WAY TO SUSTAINABLE FASHION

By:- Sambhav Jindal

Tahsin going online

I am of the opinion that project 'Tahsin' has the potential to bloom into
something even more beautiful.
In order to achieve such levels of success, we need to work together, spend a
substantial amount of time to design think and come up with innovative
strategies.
Although our primary focus is to provide aid to semi-skilled workers who
migrated from Gujarat, we should also pay attention to reducing our carbon
footprints.
By using excess waste material, we are adhering to the Reusability Principle and
moving towards sustainable development.
In my view, suggestions in the coming slides can help 'Tahsin' reach greater
heights.
A) IN LIGHT OF THE INVENTORY STORAGE AND THE ISSUES A COLLEGE SOCIETY FACES IN
RELATION TO IT,GIVE SOME SOLUTIONS WHICH MIGHT SOLVE THEM.

In order to solve a problem, one must avoid rushing to the

solutions. It is an already established fact that inventory storage is
one of the biggest challenges college societies face.
As our products will reach larger markets and audiences, it
becomes all the more critical for us to find a safe space to protect
us from external factors.
One such solution could be to ask the authority's permission to use
the college premise itself to store our products. Any suitable space
could suffice, such as a basement or storage area.
Another solution could be to insist volunteers to split inventory
among themselves in different quantities and use their own
vehicles to commute.
I believe incorporating these solutions would make our project
more cost-efficient and self-dependent.
B) DELIVERY OF PRODUCTS TO CONSUMERS CAN BE EXPENSIVE.WHAT METHODS
DO YOU THINK WOULD BE REASONABLE FOR B2C DISTRIBUTION?

Another issue often perceived as a hindrance to online shopping is transportation, which

requires several resources to work collaboratively. We usually start looking for a solution
on the outside, failing to see that the answer lies within.
To deal with it, the community can ask volunteers to come forward and deliver the goods
by commuting using public transport or personal vehicles to lessen the reliability of big
transportation companies.
Volunteers can divide the products to be delivered based on their travel distance from
their neighbourhood; it will also reduce the cost and our carbon footprints.
Asking helps from our college workers to deliver our products for low costs (20 rs per
product) could turn out to be a feasible delivery system if managed well.
Local courier services are also viable options as small transportation services are more
efficient, and courier services from different areas can be hired to help with the timely
arrival of goods to the customers.
C) PRODUCTS BEING DELIVERED HAVE TO REACH CUSTOMERS INTACT AND IN AN
UNDAMAGED CONDITION.GIVE A PACKAGING METHOD WHICH WOULD BE COST
EFFECTIVE FOR DELIVERING TAHSIN PRODUCTS.

Packaging poses a challenge to online stores globally; therefore, delivering our

products safely and in the best conditions becomes our duty to adhere.
Old, recycled cardboard boxes can be reused to package the products, and cloth
bags made of Katran with the 'TAHSIN' logo can turn out to be an aesthetically
beautiful packaging layer.
I propose our own in-kind donation, wherein students could be asked to bring
bubble wraps and air paddings from their homes that they might have from other
packaged products they ordered. This will make our packaging even more eco-
friendly.
Old newspapers can be shredded to provide an old-school aesthetic and keep our
products intact and damage-proof.
Why are these a viable option and contribution in
making this a bigger project

These suggestions will contribute significantly towards the

upliftment of the project 'Tahsin' and prove to be a significant step
towards minimising the cost of Logistics. It will help motivate more
volunteers to come forward and give them a sense of inclusion in
doing something for the greater good. also, help by motivating other
volunteers of the department as everyone will feel included in the
project, and this will lead to further contributions by volunteers
I believe in 'TAHSIN', Do you?

'TAHSIN' has immense potential, it just needs right people to

work towards it

Aiming towards both upliftment of

societies as well as reduction of waste to
make our Mother Earth a better place to
live;)
