PW306C Engines from Serial No. PCE-CG0716 and subsequent.
All PW306D Engines and all engines converted to Engine Model PW306D (Ref P&WC
engine conversion SB25419 and SB25420).
All PW306D1 Engines and all engines converted to Engine Model PW306D1 (Ref
P&WC engine conversion SB25418).

Problem:
Possible cracking in the lower fairing of the outer bypass duct.

Solution:
Perform a visual inspection of the lower fairing of the outer bypass duct area.

Compliance:
For service engines that have accumulated 200 Flight hours or more.
Perform a visual inspection of the general area of the lower fairing of
the outer bypass duct at the earliest convenience to the operator.
Repeat this inspection at the next aircraft minor inspection. Report all
findings to P&WC. (Ref. Para. 3 Accomplishment Instructions).

Applicability:
This SB 25434R1 is applicable to A/C OM-LAT.
All PW306D1 Engines and all engines converted to Engine Model PW306D1 (Ref
P&WC engine conversion SB25418).

All PW306D1 Engines and all engines converted to Engine Model PW306D1 (Ref
P&WC engine conversion SB25418) .
B. Concurrent Requirements

None.
C. Reason

(1) Problem

Possible cracking in the lower fairing of the outer bypass duct.

(2) Cause

Possible fretting.
(3) Solution

Perform a visual inspection of the lower fairing of the outer bypass duct area.
D. Description

Perform a visual inspection in the general area of the lower fairing of the outer bypass
duct and replace the lower fairing with a similar new one if cracks are found to be out of
limits.
E. Compliance

CATEGORY 3 - For service engines that have accumulated 200 Flight hours or more.
Perform a visual inspection of the general area of the lower fairing of
the outer bypass duct at the earliest convenience to the operator.
Repeat this inspection at the next aircraft minor inspection. Report all
findings to P&WC. (Ref. Para. 3 Accomplishment Instructions).

3. Accomplishment Instructions

A. Lower Fairing on the Outer Bypass Duct:

(1) Clean the general area for inspection.

(2) Perform a visual inspection of the whole lower fairing.

(3) It is recommended to use a strong light source and a good mirror.

(4) Refer to the maintenance manual (Ref. 72-70-01 Para. 7.A. (2) Inspection/Checks
for crack limits.

(5) Replace any of the fairings that are considered to be out of the limits with a new
fairing.

(6) Deleted.

B. Record the accomplishment of P&WC S.B. No. 25434 in the applicable engine log book.

C. Please complete the ‘‘SB Incorporation Sheet’’ (Ref. Fig. 1) and send by E-mail to
the address shown on the form.
