We Learn Differently
Areya June B. Pecson

Teacher Anya asked Connie, Maurice and Cristine to look for stories that
depict Filipino culture at present for their Social Studies subject. The three best
friends decided to team up for this project which requires a report and
presentation for class. Connie immediately packed her bag and asked both
Maurice and Cristine to come with her.

“Connie, where are we going?” Maurice asked while following her friends
out of the classroom.
“Where else should we go? Let’s head to the library!” Connie exclaimed.
“No! Let’s go to the computer laboratory. We could stream Youtube for
some documentaries. It’ll be easier.” Cristine said.
“I’m sorry but I think we should go to the audio-visual room. Watching
movies and news is more accurate.” Maurice declared.

The three friends couldn’t agree with the best way to do their homework
so they decided to go separate ways. Connie went to the school library while
Cristine headed to the computer laboratory and Maurice hurried to the audio-
visual room. All three of them spent hours taking down notes for their group
project. Finally, they all came back to their room by lunch time.
“Guys, check it out! I’ve gathered so much from the new periodicals in the
library. Here, I wrote them all down for you.” Connie said.
“That’s good Connie! I’ve also downloaded a bunch of documentaries from
Youtube and various social media platforms.” Cristine added.
“That’s amazing girls! I also copied an indie film and news video from the
AV room”.
The best friends were so worked up with their project because of the data
they’ve all gathered from different sources. In a short span of time, they’ve come
up with a detailed written report, a well-organized PowerPoint presentation and
a short edited video clip for their project.
On the day of the presentation, Teacher Anya was so proud with the three
of them.
“Wow, Connie, Maurice and Cristine, you presented a very well-thought
and organized project! You’re all very creative and efficient in researching your
topics. Excellent work! I’m giving you all a perfect score!” Teacher Anya
announced in the class.
“Yes!” The best friends all cheered for their success.
“It’s a good thing we learn things differently sometimes. We can use several
ways to search for homework and putting and organizing our ideas helped in our
team work.” Connie said while hugging her best friends.

Dynamic Media is a complete opposite of static media and includes websites,

social networking and online forums.
Dynamic media is developing in the modern world and the classic example is
a website.
A website, on the other hand, is the perfect example of a dynamic medium,
but it becomes a dynamic medium only when it undergoes constant updates or
changes. These changes are made by an expert in web designing, who used tools
such as HTML and Flash to modify the content on the webpage and to improve
the layout.

Facebook is a website which allows users, who sign-up for free profiles, to
connect with friends, work colleagues or people they don't know, online. It allows
users to share pictures, music, videos, and articles, as well as their own thoughts
and opinions with however many people they like.
Facebook is the latest in a long line of what we now know as “social
networking” websites. But what sets it apart from the competitors, is its popularity.
At last check, Facebook boasts over 2.23 billion active users.

Twitter is a free social networking micro blogging service that allows

registered members to broadcast short posts called tweets. Tweets and replies to
tweets can be sent by cell phone text message, desktop client or by posting at
the Twitter.com website. The default settings for Twitter are public.

LinkedIn is an American business and employment-oriented online service
that operates via websites and mobile apps. Launched on May 5, 2003, it is mainly

Acknowledgment

The Schools Division of Zambales would like to express its heartfelt gratitude
to the following, who in one way or the other, have contributed to the successful
preparation, development, quality assurance, printing, and distribution of the
Quarter 2 Guided Learning Activity Kits (GLAKs) in all learning areas across grade
levels as a response to providing the learners with developmentally-appropriate,
contextualized and simplified learning resources with most essential learning
competencies (MELCs)-based activities anchored on the principles of guided learning
and explicit instruction:

First, the Learning Resources (LR) Development Team composed of the writers
and graphic artists for devoting much of their time and exhausting their best efforts
to produce these indispensable learning kits used for the implementation of learning
delivery modalities.

Second, the content editors, language reviewers, and layout evaluators

making up the Division Quality Assurance Team (DQAT) for having carefully
evaluated all GLAKs to ensure quality and compliance to DepEd standards;

Third, the Provincial Government of Zambales, for unceasingly extending its

financial assistance to augment the funds for the printing of these learning resources
for use by learners and parents at home;

Fourth, the teacher-advisers and subject teachers, in close coordination with

the school heads, for their weekly distribution and retrieval of the GLAKs and for
their frequent monitoring of the learners’ progress through various means; and

Finally, the parents and other home learning facilitators for giving the learners
the needed guidance and support for them to possibly accomplish the tasks and for
gradually helping them become independent learners.

To deliver learning continuity in this challenging circumstance would not be

possible without your collective effort and strong commitment to serving our
Zambaleño learners.

Again, our sincerest thanks!

The Management Team
