LEARNING OBJECTIVES

M At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to talk about parts of the body they can and can’t touch.

C At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to listen to sentences and touch their relevant body parts
correctly.
1. Pupils stand up.
I. PRE-LESSON 2. Say the body parts one after another.
3. Pupils say the word and touch the relevant body part.
1. Activity 1:
Recap previous lesson by getting the pupils to recite the chant. Play the recording. Pupils
listen and follow the chant (SB page 94). Ask pupils to recite the chant while touching
their parts of the body.
2. Activity 2:
Write target language on the board. Demonstrate the activity. Pupils listen to sentences
II. LESSON DEVELOPMENT
about parts of the body. E.g. Here’s a leg. Pupils respond by touching that part of their
body and saying the target language given. E.g. Here’s my leg. I can touch my leg. Repeat
a few times. Pupils do the same activity in groups. Monitor and help as and when
necessary.

1. Make groups of four. Pupils tell each other what they can and can’t touch.
2. Ask them to demonstrate to their friends.
III. POST LESSON 3. Extension activity :
Ask pupils to write 3 sentences about their abilities in their exercise books. Provide a
model on the board. E.g. I can touch my leg. I can touch my knee. I can’t touch my toes.
