WELCOMING REMARKS
Greetings Delegates!
Welcome to Udayana Bali Model United Nations 2021! I would like to express my deepest
gratitude to you for putting your trust in our conference. This year UBMUN will be our 6th
annual MUN and it is particularly special as it will be our first online MUN. Being held
online, hopefully this MUN could serve its purpose as a platform for people to experience
immersive diplomatic experiences even in times of pandemic.
We are thriving to upgrade our quality and hospitality to serve the delegates with the best of
our ability. Our committee has worked for 5 months in order to achieve that goal. We have
prepared 3 councils ranging from beginner (ILO), intermediate (ARF), and advanced
(UNSC). In addition, we have great speakers and agendas, so don’t forget to attend each
session to get the most of our conference. If there is anything that you think we could
improve, please don’t hesitate to tell us. Last but not least, I wish you the very best for your
upcoming discussions.

Best Regards,
Ida Ayu Ngurah Intan Marlina
Secretary General of Udayana Bali Model United Nations
Head of MUN Division - IR Student Association (HIMAHI) Udayana University
INTRODUCTION TO UBMUN 2021
After we decided to cancel Udayana Bali MUN last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic,
this year Udayana Bali MUN is back. Udayana Model United Nations (UBMUN) 2021 will goes
online as uncertainty regarding the current pandemic still linger. Despite being held online; we are
still maintaining the scope of this year UBMUN to international community. UBMUN is organized
by International Relations Student Association (HIMAHI) Universitas Udayana. The main
program was created to fulfill the objectives set by the UBMUN committee in promoting
international issues among participants, provide a direct illustration of the United Nations

aspects and to encourage participants to increase their ability of public speaking while upholding
diplomatic values
UBMUN 2021 THEME EXPLANATION
THEME:
“Recovery: A Continuous Global Effort for the Advancement of Human Lives”
It has been more than a year since Covid-19 pandemic declared by World Health
Organization (WHO). Clearly we can see its tremendous impact to economy and society across
the world. The loss of millions of human lives, an unprecedented challenge to economy, health,
food, as well employment is only few of much larger impact of the current pandemic. International
community has faced a wide range of global issues and challenges since international system was
established. With an ever-developing effort and solution we manage to keep our hand in tracking
and tackling various global issues that also getting more complex. Not only it brought new
challenges, the current pandemic also seems to be disrupting our effort in regard with other global
issue. Reflecting to our chosen topics, we have come from a long way to eradicate child labor
across the globe, South China Sea remain a contentious issue with no sign to stop, and the current
conflict in Yemen which often dubbed the worst humanitarian issue that also shows no sign to
stop. No effort is more important than other as many global issues today are often intertwined with
each other therefore to achieving “the world that we want” embodied in The 2030 Agenda for
