• Wh- questions begin with a question word (e.g. when, where, why). After the
question word, we use the same word order as in yes/no questions.
• We use:
- when to ask about time: When did you get here?
- where to ask about places: Where are you going?
- why to ask about the reason for something: Why were you late?
- how to ask about the way to do something: How do I get to town?
- how much/how many to ask about quantity:
How much money have you got? How many eggs do we need?
• We also use how to ask about somebody's health: How are you?
• We can use how+ adjective/adverb to ask about degree:
How tall are you? How often do you go there?
