3. Calculate the angle of twist Ø(in degrees) at the free end of the stepped shaft
Shown below. G= 80 Gpa ………………( 10 points)

4. The beam ABC shown in the figure is attached to a pin support at A and a roller at
support at A. A uniform load of intensity q acts on part AB and a triangular load
of max intensity 2q acts on part BC……..(15 points)
a) obtain an expression for the shear force V and bending moment M in Part AB at
distance x from support A
b) Determine the max bending moment M max in part AB.
c) Draw the shear force and bending moment diagram for beam ABC
