Long after the fall of humanity, our offspring still breathe. Circuitry is the new blood stream,
code is the new brainwave, technology is the new life. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever, the
second end is near and its name is 404.
The canonic fashion of the first movement represents a glitch that cannot catch up with itself
and the second movement showcases how that glitch ends the reign of technology along with
the bizarre nostalgia the computer feels in the last moments of its life.
Performance Notes:
This piece requires the Marimba player to use 4 mallets at some points, most of the time (all of
the time for the Vibraphonist) the player will just need 3 mallets. The piece should be played with
rigid tempos with little push and pull, aside from the tempo change in the first movement. Inthe first
movement, every upbeat 16th note should be accented.
