 What is tuberculosis?
Is a common and, in most cases, curable infectious disease caused
by various types of mycobacteria, usually Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Most often, tuberculosis attacks the lungs, but it can also affect other
parts of the body pleura, kidneys, peritoneum, skin, eyes, bones, etc.
 Classic symptoms:
 The classic symptoms of active TB are a chronic cough with streaks of
blood, sputum, fever, chronic fatigue, night sweats, and weight loss TB used
to be called the “wasting disease” because of the weight loss of infected
people. Infection of other organs causes a wide variety of symptoms
diagnosis.
Factors of infenction:

Several factors make people susceptible to tuberculosis


infection. The most important risk factor globally is HIV;
13% of all tuberculosis cases have HIV infection
