(a) Petiole
(b) Lamina
(c) Veins
(d) Nodes
2. Filament of a bulb is made up of
(a) aluminium
(b) chromium
(c) platinum
(d) tungsten
3. Parallel venation is not found in
(a) sugarcane
(b) peepal
(c) maize

5. A …………….. is a device which makes or breaks the circuit.
(a) switch
(b) bulb
(c) battery
(d) connecting wire
6. To prevent electric shocks, the metallic electrical wires are covered
with
(a) paper
(b) cotton
(c) aluminium
(d) plastic

B. Write True or False.

1. Ovary is the lower most part of a pistil __________
True
2. Rubber and wood are good conductors of electricity. ______________
False
3. Plants having leaves with reticulate venation have fibrous roots.______
False
4. Stem absorbs water and minerals from the soil. __________
False
5. Current flows from positive terminal of cell to its negative terminal. __________
True

C. Answer the following in brief.

1. Two bulbs are connected to a cell as shown in Figure given below. Bulb A got
fused. Will the bulb B glow in the given circuit? Give reason in support of your
answer.
No. Bulb B will not glow as Bulb A is fused and the
two bulbs are connected using one singular
connecting wire and thus Bulb A will not produce
electricity. The circuit becomes open and thus the
electricity stops flowing.

Ans. 3) Tree- Trees are long plants with hard and

thick stems. These plants have branches in the upper
parts.
EX- Peepul, Banyan etc.
Climber- These plants have weak stems and take
support to climb up.
EX- Grapevine, Money plant
Ans.2- 1) Leaves perform photosynthesis in plants.
2) Leaves through stomata perform transpiration. Tree Climber
