Kevin Sanjaya

Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo is a man from Banyuwangi whose name is bright in the world of
badminton which is part of the Djarum Club and now Kevin is a national badminton athlete. Kevin is
one of the best men's doubles Indonesia has ever had. Kevin paired With Marcus Fernaldi Gideon
since 2015, Kevin and Marcus have been ranked first in the world men's doubles sector for 4 years
i.e. from 2019 to 2022. Markus and Kevin earned the nickname the minions from their fans because
they have a small posture when compared to players from other countries.

In his journey to becoming an athlete, Kevin had been in the ups and downs of his
profession, but he continued to train hard so that he won a lot of titles. By the time he was in the
djarum Kevin was already in the mixed doubles sector, then he was called up by national badminton
and out of from Djarum Club. Before becoming an athlete in the men's doubles sector, he also
played in the mixed doubles sector. He had paired up with Greysia Polli and Masita Mahmudin in the
mixed doubles sector, but he's coach felt Kevin's potential was more developed in the men's doubles
sector, eventually, Kevin was now in the men's doubles sector. Kevin and Marcus were set up to
back up their seniors in the men's doubles, but they had hard work, they are no longer in the
shadow of their seniors they are on an equal footing with their seniors. Kevin and Marcus'
achievements continue to shine in international events. Their first international championship was
the Chinese Taipei Masters in 2015.

It was from that moment that their achievements continued to shine, one of their most
shining and unexpected achievements being the all-England championship in 2018. Kevin and
Marcus' fast-patterned, precise play, daring to take risks, and winning mentality made in those years
difficult for opponents from other countries to beat. They are touted as the new breakers in the
badminton game in the men's doubles sector. In the same year, they also won the Asian Games
championship held in Jakarta. Kevin and Marcus continued to grow rapidly, their game always put
pressure on opponents so they were hard to beat which led to their best results as world number
one in the men's doubles sector. But I don't know what happened to them, who were expected to
bring gold at Tokyo Olympics 2020, but came out early. They kind of lost their determination to play
and their pattern of play. But it didn't take long, they rose again with a new determination and a
new game so that in 2021 they won several championships. Then in 2022 Kevin and Marcus
experienced another decline, but there were several factors, one of which was due to an injury to
Marcus that caused their game pattern to go runway. Now they are starting over to organize their
achievements to return to their glorious times.
