The 4th Athens Marathon International Film Festival awards ceremony was held on December 17 at the Municipal Amphitheater of Peristeri Town Hall in Athens. Awards were given out for best director, best film, and best sound design for the film Sans Soleil. Additional awards were given to films and filmmakers from Greece and other countries. In total, 56 short and feature-length films from 19 countries were screened at the 4-day film festival held from December 16-20, 2022.

On Saturday, December 17, at 20:00 at the Municipal Amphitheater of the Town Hall of Peristeri, the Awards Ceremony of the 4th "Athens Marathon International Film Festival" was successfully held. The festival continues on December 19 and 20 at the Municipal Amphitheater of the Peristeri Town Hall (Dimokratias Square 1 - P.O. 12134 – near Peristeri Metro station). Shows start daily at 5pm. and last until 10.00 p.m. The President of the Cultural and Educational Organization "The Basement" and Director of the Festival Georgios Tsononas, after thanking the Film Workshop of the Municipal Organization for Cultural Development of the Municipality of Peristeri (DEPADP), the Municipality of Peristeri for the concession of the Amphitheater and the 5-member jury of the festival, awarded together with: - Apostolis Iliopoulos - Chairman of the Jury, director, producer and manager of the Film Workshop of the Municipal Organization for Cultural Development of the Municipality of Peristeri (DEPADP) - Christos Arfanis, film director the following prizes: • Awards for Best Director, Best Film and Best Sound Design (Marco Vermaas) for film Sans Soleil. The awards were received by Belgian film director Banu Akseki. • Award for Best Greek director and Best Greek film to Thanasis Neofotistos for the film AirHostess-737 who also received the award for best actress for Lena Papaligoura in the same film. • Award for Best new director and "honorable mention" for Best Greek film to Manos Triantafyllakis for his film Just Like Water. • Best Actor Award to Pavlos Pierros for his performance in the movie Love Ex Machina • "Honorable Mention" as Best Screenplay nominee to British Paul G Herbert for Vegetable Crushers • "Honorable Mention" as a nomination for best new director to Anastasios Kassimatis and Antonis Apergis for their film Love Ex Machina • "Honorable Mention" as a nomination for best Greek film to Konstantinos Tsiodoulos for his film "The Boar". He also received the "Honorable Mention" as best actor for Dimitrios Drosos in the same film. • "Honorable Mention" as a nomination for best documentary film to directors Apostolos and Giorgos Polymeris for the film Rebetiko Underground. • "Honorable Mention" as a nomination for best documentary film to the director Kalliopi Katsidoniotis for the film Imperative (12 Haikus). • "Honorable Mention" as a nomination for best animated film to director Anastasia Papadopoulou for her film "Elevator Alone" Awards were also awarded to: Techno, Mama as best short film and its Lithuanian director Saulius Baradinskas as best short film director, Max Bugajak for Best Cinematography in the Polish film The Dreams of Lonely People Tonia Mishiali for the best screenplay of her film, Daphne Francisco Yvan Luzemo as Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the Belgian film Juwaa Marissa Triantafyllidou as best supporting actress for her performance in the film Biouti Dimitris Hatzimalis for the best documentary film Steel History – "622 Poseidon Vivi Markatos for the best animated film The Knight's Hart and others who were unable to attend the ceremony and the awards will be sent to them by e mail.
