History of CNNT

Periods of school:
1. 1925-1935 – Pucioasa mixed Gymnasium
The Pucioasa mixed gymnasium, established by the order of the Ministry of Instruction no. 64634,
from July 25, 1925, was the first secondary mixed school in the country. In the summer of 1925, The
Minister of Instruction, dr. C. A. Angelescu was present for the inauguration of the new institution and
he was the one who signed the approval of the establishment the gymnasium.

2. 1935-1939 - mixed Gymnasium “Nicolae Tituilescu”


In 1935, the great diplomat Nicolae Titulescu accepted the invitation of the gymnasium management
to become its spiritual mentor, so that the institution became the mixed Gymnasium Nicolae Titulescu.
In September 1935, the new secondary school was inaugurated (the current kindergarten place no. 1),
an event attended by the county officials and the representative of Nicolae Titulescu, Elena Văcărescu.

3. 1945-1948 - "Nicolae Tituilescu" mixed High School


In 1944, the gymnasium was transformed into the mixed theoretical High School “Nicolae Titulescu”.
The mixed theoretical High School “Nicolae Titulescu” was founded on the initiative of some refugee
teachers in Pucioasa: Grama Leon, Radu Manoliu, Erhan Anatolie. The first principal of the high
school was Nicolae Bidnei, a teacher of Romanian language, detached from the “Laurian” High
School in Botosani.
In the first year of operation there were 24 teachers and 263 students (129 girls and 134 boys).
In the four years of operation (1944-1948), 115 students graduated. In the following years, the
institution suffered a lot of transformations imposed by the communist system, becoming: The Silvic
Technical Middle School (1948-1952), the 10-class Middle School, with theoretical profile (1952-
1955), the 11-class mixed Middle School (1955-1965), the real Humanist High School (1966-1974),
The industrial High School Pucioasa (1975-1990).

8. 1975-1990 – Pucioasa Industrial High School
9. 1990-1991 – Pucioasa theoretical High School
Starting with 1990, the school regained its status, becoming again: The theoretical High School
Pucioasa. Since 1990, when it changed its status, the school has operated with various forms, levels
and specializations. Starting with the school year 1990-1991, the industrial classes went into
liquidation, and since 1994-1995 the high school operates only with theoretical classes.
11. 1991-2007 – “Nicolae Titulescu” theoretical High School
12. 2007-until now – “Nicolae Titulescu” National High School

At the proposal of the teaching Council of 14.12.2006, the Board of Directors of the “Nicolae
Titulescu” theoretical High School, Pucioasa, addressed to the Minister of Education, the request to
order, under the law, the transformation of the high school into a National College. This request was
accompanied by the corresponding memory on the history and special results of the school. The
request was accepted, and through the order of the Minister no. 1572/ 25.07.2007 it was ordered the
transformation of Nicolae Titulescu theoretical High School into the National College “Nicolae
Titulescu”.
The high school is proud of ours impressive number of personalities from all fields.

The National College “Nicolae Titulescu” is the only theoretical institution in the north of the region,
which offers, for the real profile, the specializations: mathematics – computer science-intensive
english, natural sciences, and for the human profile, specializations: social sciences and philology,
english intensive, italian intensive and french intensive.
This school institution attracts most of the middle school graduates, who want to follow the theoretical
field, and at the same time, perform an important influence on the local communities from which these
students come.
The school encourages collaboration with the local community and educational institutions in the
country and the community and carries out numerous school, local, national or international projects,
which has led to the increase of its representativeness at the county and national level and brings
important benefits to students, teachers and the wider or local educational community.
Students of the school demonstrate, besides serious knowledge of general culture, abilities and artistic
skills , confirmed in the county competitions of theater, school magazines, music, but also team spirit,
civility and desire to be involved in everything that means the life of the school, the school community
or the community in general.
