Writing Practice Task 1: Write an email to a friend.


Learning outcome: Students will be able to write an informal email to a friend giving and
asking for personal news and using connectors “and, but, or”.
CEFR Outcome: Students can convey personal information of a routine nature, for example
in a short e-mail or letter introducing themselves. (Ref. CEFR A2: Communicative language
activities / Interaction / Written interaction / Correspondence)
Task description:
You are going to read and respond to a friend’s e-mail by answering his/her questions about
your life. 
You mustn’t forget to…
✔ Use ‘and’, ‘but’, ‘or’ to join sentences together.
✔ Include a variety of adjectives to describe people (at least 5).
✔ Use correct grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and spelling.

Writing Practice Task 2: Write a blog post about your day.


Learning outcome: Students will be able to write a blog post about a typical day using
sequencing words.
CEFR Outcome: Students can make short descriptive online postings about everyday
matters, social activities and feelings, with simple key details. (Ref. CEFR A2+:
Communicative language activities / Interaction / Online interaction / Online conversation
and discussion)
Task description:
You are going to write a diary and include 6-10 activities you do in a normal day and the
times you do them. Use your diary to write a short blog post about your day.
You mustn’t forget to…
✔ Use sequencing words ‘first, after that, then, finally’ to explain the order.
✔ Include variety of vocabulary from the unit. (at least 5).

Writing Practice Task 3: Write a description of a place.


Learning outcome: Students will be able to write a straightforward description of a place
using descriptive adjectives.

CEFR Outcome: Students can describe everyday aspects of their environment e.g. people,
places, a job or study experience using basic, concrete vocabulary and simple phrases and
linked sentences with simple connectives like “and”, “but” and “because”. (Ref. CEFR A2+:
Communicative language activities / Production / Written production / Creative writing)
Task description:
You are going to write a description of a building or a place.Choose a building, landmark in
your city ( or in a city that you know well). Include the name of the building, the description
of inside and outside, the things you can do there, what it looks like, your opinion of it.
