The idea stemmed from a conversation Page had with Radio 1 producer Jeff Griffin requesting more airtime to allow them to expand and improvise. This performance was eventually aired on 10 August 1969. A much-bootlegged show, it was officially released in 1997 on BBC Sessions (excluding Dazed And Confused and Whice Summer/Black Mountain Side) and again on the Complete BBC Sessions set in 2016 (with those songs added) 28 June 1969 — The Bath Festival OF Blues, Recreation Ground, Bath, England. Ten Tears After, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin and John Mayall were the main attractions, Also on the bill: The Nice, Chicken Shack, Blodwyn Pig, Taste and The Liverpool Scene. John Pee compéred. Clade founded the Montreux Jhon Festival in 1967 (for the record Led Zeppelin never performed dung the acral Festiva, The orginal venue was famously bbume tothe ground on 4 December 1971, during a Frank Zappa concert ~ the sory of which was later Jmmorelised in the Deep Purple song Smoke On The Water. As result when the band returned to Montreux on 28 and 29 October 1972, they played at Le Pavillon.
