    PROBLEM STATEMENT

    • 1. From own observation / experience

    - Tesl students having problems with their speaking skills.


    - Youtube was chosen because this networking site gives many contributions in the teaching and
    learning process. It also giving flexibility for students. So, I want to do research about can youtube
    enchance speaking skills among tesl students.

    2. From other researchers' finding:

    Primary Source:
    - Fear of making mistakes, feeling of shy, hesitation, and lack of confidence seem to affect negatively
    towards the learners' English speaking performance Haidara (2016) Research shown that YouTube
    tutorial videos can successfully improve the learners' speaking ability.

    Secondary Source:
    - Thornbury (2008) claims that one frustration commonly voiced by learners are that they have spent
    years studying English, but still cannot speak it. Research shown Youtube English Channel can
    improve students in critical thinking and develop students’ speaking ability in communication.

    - Result of the study showed that the
    students’ speaking skill was improving
    in three aspects 1) accuracy, 2) fluency,
    3) performance.

    4. Ceyhun Yukselir, Sevki Komur USING ONLINE VIDEOS TO - This study aimed to improve the
    (2017) IMPROVE speaking abilities of EFL students at
    SPEAKING ABILITIES OF EFL prep school by using online videos.
    LEARNERS - Results show that those who watched
    videos improved their speaking ability
    and scored high than those who didn't,
    and in view of gender, the girls were
    more successful than the boys.
