In lesson one I learned proof is a series of steps or statements, with justifications, that verifies a theorem

or relationship between two objects exists. You must be able to support each statement with a reason
or justification as to why the statement is true. When designing a proof, it is very important not to skip
steps, no matter how “easy” or “obvious” they may seem. There are three types of proofs two columns,
paragraphs, and flow chart. Two-column proofs means Statements are listed in the left column while
Reasons or justifications are listed in the right column. Paragraph proofs are used to justify each
statement by using the terms because, since, and by. Lastly is flow chart proof with this proof
statements are written in boxes. Reasons or justifications are underlined underneath the statement they
support. Use arrows to connect appropriate statements together.

In lesson two I learned, Triangle Sum Theorem: The three angles of any triangle add up to 180°.Isosceles
Triangle Theorem: The angles opposite the two congruent sides of an isosceles triangle are also
congruent. Converse of the Isosceles Triangle Theorem: If the two base angles of a triangle are
congruent, then the sides opposite those angles are also congruent, making the triangle isosceles.
Midsegment of a Triangle Theorem: A segment connecting the midpoints of two sides of any triangle is
parallel to the third side and half its length. Concurrency of Medians Theorem: The three medians of any
triangle intersect at one point called the centroid.

In lesson three I learned opposite sides and angels are congruent. The diagonals of a parallelogram
bisect each other. If the diagonals of a quadrilateral bisect each other, the quadrilateral is a
parallelogram. Rectangles are parallelograms with congruent diagonals.
