Prerequisites

This guide assumes that the steps in

HowTo_GettingStarted
HowTo_UpdateSCUFW

has been followed.


1) Open CoDeSys V2.3

Follow the instructions in

HowTo_OpenCoDeSysProject
2) Open the LED function block

a) Open the tab “POUs”


b) In the object “SPREADER_APPLICATION”, there is an
object called “BuiltInIOs”, open that
3) Configuring LED outputs
To use the PLC’s PWM outputs to control LEDs:
a) Make sure “Enable” is set to TRUE for
LEDController_SCU and SpreaderLED_Control-
Builltin.
b) For Controlling LEDs brightness make sure that
g_Brightness_Level is set to 1(Level1) or 2 (Level2).
The brightness is set by pairing LEDs i.e
• Pair1: LED1-LED6
• Pair2: LED2-LED7
• Pair3: LED3-LED8
• Pair4: LED4-LED9
• Pair5: LED5-LED10

• The brightness value is range btw 0..100%.
• The SCU uses the SpreaderLED_Control_Builtin
outputs for control as standard but there is even a way to
move the outputs to a BBC IO(CR0403).
