Nu Chapter

September 2022

Happy Fall everyone! My favorite season – cooler days/night and

brilliantly colored trees. Okay, I really don’t like all the “fall”ing
leaves, but it’s still a beautiful season!

I hope that all those who returned to the classroom, office, library,
etc. have had a smooth, invigorating start.

Our first meeting is fast approaching. It will be held at Cranberry Hall

in Medford on Wednesday, October 12th beginning at 6:30 pm. I am
looking forward to seeing you and getting my biennium started. We
have a lot to discuss - information from the International
Convention that was held this past July, as well as some new
ideas/endeavors for our chapter. I will be looking for volunteers to
help get these off the ground.

For those of you who can’t make the meeting in person, I will be
posting a Zoom link closer to the date of the meeting.

Our program for the October meeting is unique. Members will have
the opportunity to interview each other. In the past when our
Necrology chairs needed to use the current information sheets, they
were found lacking in more personal information, for example,
hobbies, travels, family, etc. This will give us not only a chance to
get to know each other better but to provide much needed
information for later. Those sisters who will be attending via Zoom
will be sent a Google doc that they can fill out. I think it’ll be an
interesting and fun activity!

I’d like to introduce a new sister, Amy Weinstein. Amy is joining us

from Gamma Chapter. She is the ECC Curriculum and Instruction
Director for Congregation Beth El’s Early Childhood Center in
Voorhees. Welcome Amy!

Speaking of new members, I know you’ve all been about thinking
prospective members!! DKG NJ would like to see each chapter induct
at least two (2) new members at the state convention in March 2023.
Names of possible members should be presented at our October
meeting. If you have any questions, please contact our membership
chair, 2nd VP Marianne Cancellieri. You can find her contact
information in the directory that was sent out to you.

On a sad note, I would like to inform you of the passing of our sister
Elizabeth (Liz) Anderson in July. A big thank you to Pat Gordon for
attending her viewing representing Nu Chapter and placing a white
rose in commemoration of her membership.

Don’t forget that in October we collect items for the Seneca Pantry.
Please see the attached sheet for what is needed.

Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank past-presidents Gail

Gersie, Gail Griffin, Ingrid Williams, and Chris Musick for helping me
get started. They think I’m kidding when I tell them I have them on
speed-dial…lol.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Vicki

What’s New to Nu?

• There will be an attendance sheet on the table next to the

meeting paperwork. You will need to initial next to your name
in the column under the meeting date. This will make it easier
to keep track of member attendance. Marianne will check off
members attending by Zoom.

• Also, on that table there will be a container for Schools for

Africa. Instead of having a raffle at each meeting, we will be
asking members to drop in whatever change they may have in
their purse (dollars will be accepted, too). Members attending
by Zoom, who wish to donate, can mail a check to Nola. Please
write on the notation line on the bottom of the check that it is
for Schools for Africa.
