Lord. (a), (c) (b) (d)

“I have made a covenant with | my cho-sen one,

I have sworn to David | my serv-ant:
Forever will I confirm your | pos- ter-ity
and establish your throne for all | gener- a-tions.”

Blessed the people who know the joy- | ful shout;

in the light of your countenance, O Lord, | they walk.
At your name they rejoice all | the day,
and through your justice they | are ex- alt-ed.

He shall say of me, “You are | my fa-ther,

my God, the rock, | my sav-ior.”
Forever I will maintain my kindness to- | ward him,
and my covenant with | him stands firm.

* This responsorial Psalm is used at the Mass on the evening of December 24, either before or after First Vespers
(Evening Prayer I) of the Nativity.
